OUR STORY

Native Delights was founded in 2012 by Ian Gladue with a simple but powerful vision: to bring traditional Indigenous foods into the mainstream and share the rich flavours of First Nations cuisine with a wider community.

A proud member of the Bigstone Cree Nation, Ian began his journey in Edmonton with little more than determination and a stack of menus. He personally delivered his now-legendary Bannock Cheddar Burgers before building his own humble food cart. Through perseverance and hard work, he became certified to serve First Nations cuisine — and on his very first official day, he sold out.

In 2017, Native Delights became a true family venture when Ian’s wife, Rondell Gladue — whose roots are from Cold Lake First Nations and Rocky Mountain House — joined as both partner and co-owner. Together, they grew Native Delights from a single food cart into a thriving family-owned business, expanding into multiple mobile concession trailers, catering services, and two restaurant locations.

Ian also founded MITSOH, Canada’s first Indigenous meat snack brand “Rooted in Tradition,” now available nationwide. Through every step of growth, the mission has remained the same: to honour Indigenous culinary traditions while embracing contemporary flavour and creativity.

Today, Native Delights proudly focuses on mobile concessions, serving Edmonton and the surrounding area. We are deeply grateful for the community support that has fuelled our journey and look forward to continuing to share our food, culture, and story throughout the 2026 vending season and beyond.
